DIY Lighting update

So, we have this great rented apartment here in Spain, but guys, the fixtures are SO outdated! I might not mind the actual light too much, but with the ancient furniture, grandpa shelving unit, and floral couch, it's just TOO much.

Here's a photo of the original fixture: Complete with etched 90's glass (is that wheat?!).

My original idea was to use vellum paper cutouts (in layers) over the existing glass to add some depth and art-deco feel to the original light. It was a complete failure. I let it sit for 3 weeks, came back to it, and decided to cut shapes from paper to hang over the brass spokes, and removing the glass.
I used my Silhouette cutting machine to design a Scandinavian style branch for most of the layers, and then added in a branch shape with leaves to give it some more fill and movement.
Branches cut, organized and ready to divide between two lights.

After placing 2-3 branches for each spoke, the lights are updated and fun. I'm happy with the way it turned out!
