Karlsruhe, Germany

We landed in Frankfurt, Germany on Wednesday May 23rd, and began our 'exploratory mission' trip. We've got three weeks here in Europe, and planned to spend time with people in Germany for a week, and then head to Spain for the following two weeks.

We met Klaus and Ana when they came to our church in 2007 for Tribal Gathering (conference) and connected with them immediately. In the years following, Ana and I emailed back and forth several times, and so when we decided to visit Germany (mainly to see Kristina, our foreign exchange student from last year) I emailed to see if we could see them. I have been BLOWN away by how much of a God-send they were for us to begin our trip there specifically. We stayed in their flat for 3 nights and shared some really good fellowship with them. We got to meet some missionary friends of theirs that are working within the human trafficking/brothel areas of Karlsruhe. What a neat 'coincidence' to realize they know several of our mutual friends in Kansas City.
We spent an afternoon visiting a castle in Heidelberg:

It was raining, and totally EPIC!

We had such a good time with Klaus and Ana-- We got a much bigger perspective of what God is doing in Europe, and I'm so thankful for the time we had with them, before heading on, in our exploration.  There is more I could say, I know, but gotta keep this post short!
Details on our time with Kristina's family in Mainz, coming soon!
